IMAN HASBAN
Visual artist
As a contemporary artist, I see memory as the inspiration and driving force behind my work. To me, memory is a living space that often draws us in involuntarily. Memories find their way to us through dreams, pain or fear, and sometimes against our will. My work is not about reproducing memories as clear representations or linear narratives of events. Rather, it’s the sensory aspect of memory that can be translated into visual images.
event'. In the words of Walter Benjamin
„experiencing is limited to a single circle, while remembering is unlimited, because it is only a key to everything that happened before and after“
